SOCIAL ISSUES STANCES

Abortion

We believe the Bible teaches that a human life begins at conception in the womb of a woman. To abort a fetus at any time is ending the life of a human being. “I knew you before you were born in your mother’s womb” (Jeremiah 1:4).

Capital Punishment

God has placed, and allowed, the Governments and court systems of the world. It is through these systems that laws are made, whether we agree with them or not. Capital punishment in some cases is given by a jury or judge. We believe each person deserves to have the opportunity to hear about the grace and forgiveness of Jesus Christ before their life is ended by the court system. “Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God” (Romans chapter 13:1).

Homosexuality

Our view on homosexuality is posted in a piece written by Scott Nute. It can be found on our website here: www.scottnute.org/homosexuality

Marriage

We believe the Bible teaches that God created marriage for one man to be committed to one woman for life, or until death. And that sex is only to be experienced in the confines of marriage between one man and one woman.“For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh” (Genesis 2:18-25).

Politics

Politicians have a free will to either accept or reject Jesus Christ. The choice individual politicians make about Him will directly influence their personal political views. Therefore, politicians, like all of us, can either be used of God to attempt good in society, or they can be used of satan to do evil and bring damage into society. Yet, God is Sovereign and in control of all things, and He weaves political decisions, even damaging decisions, into His master plan.

We believe it is the privilege and duty of each Christian to vote based on the spiritual life each politician declares, and on the candidates who hold the most Biblically accurate views.

Scott Nute is a registered voter, but he does not venture into endorsing any political party, or any political groups, or any political candidates. As a minister and an evangelist, his complete focus is proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ throughout the world, and to not enter into in-depth discussions and “debates” that can be a distraction to the greater good of changing human hearts through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Therefore, he avoids secondary Theological, political, and social issues, if and when such issues can be used to interrupt his ministry of bringing the Body of Christ together in reaching the world with the message of Jesus Christ. “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15).

Racial & Gender Equality

We believe the Bible teaches that all people are made, and born, and live, in the image of God. Therefore, the color of a person’s skin, nor their gender, should ever be an issue that initiates, and promotes, violence or verbal assaults; however, we live in a fallen and sinful world, which means some people, for whatever reasons, choose to become “prejudiced” toward those who may be of a different skin color or gender. Only Jesus Christ can change the fallen heart of a prejudiced person, which is why we focus on this main Biblical mandate of penetrating human hearts with the Good News of Jesus Christ. “So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them” (Genesis 1:27).

War

It was never God’s intention for human beings to have war against one another. But, due to the sin of mankind, the inevitable results has been continual war throughout the world. Because God is Sovereign and all-powerful, He is able to mysteriously weave war into His plan, even though it was not in His original plan for mankind. Therefore, war, whether we agree with it or not, will never cease until Jesus Christ returns. “You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come” (Matthew 24:6).
