We have just returned from the Philippines! Our team saw a tremendous movement of God during our recent Manila Project that concluded last week. I am excited to share the following update with you:
Our team conducted our school outreach program in 14 schools throughout Manila. Relevant issues students and teachers struggle with were addressed, such as drugs, alcohol, depression, suicide, eating disorders, homosexuality, and others. After a clear presentation of the Gospel was proclaimed before these thousands of youth and young adults, over 9,400 of them decided to repent of their sins and publicly make a commitment to Jesus Christ! Due to the months of hard work by our native Filipino staff and assistants, we had numerous local churches, pastors, organizations, and individual “disciplers” in place to begin the contacting, follow-up, and discipleship of those who decided for Jesus Christ!
I regret to report a typhoon hit Manila the day of our Leadership Development Conference. Sadly, two people died and several were missing. Our prayers went out to the families of those lost in the typhoon floods. In spite of this tragedy, approximately 700 pastors, church leaders, and ministry-minded Christians attended our conference, some traveling up to 8 hours through risky weather. After my final message on “Revival & Spiritual Awakening,” over 225 church leaders came forward to rededicate their lives and ministries to Christ! Plus, 3 people accepted Jesus Christ!
An important component of this project was “Celebrate Recovery (CR),” which is a group program ministry that helps people work through life “hurts, hang-ups, and habits” by the power of Jesus Christ. Our project team consisted of several CR members from our home church, Houston’s First Baptist Church. As a result of our conference, over 200 churches throughout Manila signed up to start CR ministries with the help of the native Manila CR coordinator.
In addition, our team conducted services in 6 churches where we testified and preached the Good News of Jesus Christ! We gave out 100 Bibles to those who did not own a Bible and distributed 50,000 salvation tracts to students and teachers in the schools and those we reached in the churches. We gave tracts to each person who attended our conference and equipped them in how to effectively and strategically use them.
Here are a few testimonies of lives that were changed:
These are just some of the countless lives that were touched by Jesus Christ in our Manila, Philippines Project. It is because of our ministry partners like you that such testimonies were made possible…thank you for your prayers and support!
Together…we are reaching, training, and raising harvest laborers world-wide,
Scott Nute
It has been over a century since the United States of America experienced what is called a “Spiritual Awakening,” which is simply defined as a renewed focus on evangelical Christianity…churches grow, evangelism and missions explode, bars close, repentance of personal and national sin takes place on a massive level, and a harvest of people turn to Jesus Christ and are saved! America has had her awakening times, but the Philippines have yet to experience a true Revival and Spiritual Awakening that sweeps their country…and this is what we are praying for
Spiritual Awakening is the theme for our July 12-23, 2012 project in Manila, Philippines. God has opened a huge door for our ministry to conduct our Leadership Development Conference in the city of Manila, a strategic gateway city for all of Asia. Whatever God does in Manila has the potential to spread not only throughout Asia, but the world. My final message for this all-day conference will be “Revival and Spiritual Awakening in Asia,” and, God willing, I plan on preaching with all my heart from 2 Chronicles 7:14 where the Bible says, “if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
I urge you to join us in praying for the Spirit of God to fall on the hundreds of pastors and church leaders attending this conference…pray for repentance, renewal, and re-empowerment for all of us!
You can help us give training, ministry resources, Bibles, salvation tracts, and a nourishing meal, to the hundreds of church leaders attending our conference. Many, if not most, Filipino pastors and church workers do not have the means to get thorough ministry training and materials; however, because of our gracious ministry partners like you, we will be able to provide these things to the Filipino church leaders and better equip them for ministry service.
We are taking a team to the Philippines from the “Celebrate Recovery (CR)” ministry from my home church, Houston’s First Baptist Church. CR is a support group ministry, helping those with life-hindering issues to work through and move forward from such issues with the help of Jesus Christ. Our team members will be sharing their personal testimonies with thousands of students during our numerous school programs throughout the city of Manila. Our life testimonies will give hope to many youth who are battling with wounded hearts, drugs, alcohol, peer pressure, and other issues. Most importantly, we will be preaching the Gospel and calling all students, teachers, and school staff to the cross…pray for thousands of students and school workers to surrender their lives to Jesus Christ! To get help for your own life issues, visit the “Wounded Hearts” section of our website at: www.scottnute.org.
Can you help us…will you help us? Your timely financial contribution today will play a significant part in the impact we will have in the lives of youth, families, pastors, and church leaders in the Philippines! I thank you now for your help and partnership…we truly appreciate how you care enough for others to give from what God has given to you to help the people of the Philippines!
For world-wide revival and spiritual awakening,
Scott Nute
Reports are coming in from India telling how busy the pastors and churches are following up with the more than 250 people who made commitments to Jesus Christ at our recent region-wide “Festival Crusade.” Over 150 village churches scattered throughout a southeastern part of India were involved in this outreach. Many of these new Indian Christians will be baptized, which in their culture is a brave step of faith because a public display of following Jesus Christ like baptism increases the risk of persecution. Please join us in prayer for these new believers!
Are you regularly sharing your faith in Jesus Christ? Don’t miss out on the wonderful joy and eternal blessings of your personal evangelism responsibility. Here is a verse that gives both the benefits of being involved in personal evangelism and the consequences of not, “He who gathers crops in summer is a prudent son, but He who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son” (Proverbs 10:5).
Visit our website at www.scottnute.org where you can get free practical resources on how to share your faith with others, as well as daily Bible studies and ongoing discipleship materials. You can also get salvation tracts you can share with people you know and people you cross paths with that you don’t know…all for free!
It is exciting and motivating for me to be a part of our growing ministry! Presently, there are several ways you can be a part of what we are doing by helping us in the following positions: Bookkeeper and Donor Relations. Another way you can help is spreading the word of our ministry to others you know. A great way to do this is “Home Dinner Meetings,” where you invite your friends to your home for dinner and share about our ministry. Also, contacting your friends and asking if they would be interested to receive our monthly mail and/or e-letter ministry updates would help us.
Plans have been in motion for several months for our upcoming project next month in the Philippines. Our Asia director and advance team are making final preparations in several schools where we will be presenting our program to thousands of students. Plus, we will be hosting the largest Leadership Training Conference we have held to this point, and the theme of the conference is “Revival & Spiritual Awakening in Asia.” We will be taking a team with us from my home church, Houston’s First Baptist Church. Please join us in prayer over the next few weeks, for a true Holy Spirit movement of God…for revival to fall upon the Philippines! Next month, I will give details of this tremendous opportunity the Lord has opened up for us in Asia.
We are grateful to you our ministry partners for all your support! To those who have been supporting this ministry for years, I say a heartfelt special thank you! At our dinner benefits a few months ago many people pledged support to our ministry, and to this point around 50% of you who made a commitment began fulfilling your pledge with actual financial support…thank you for keeping your word and helping us! (To those who have not yet begun fulfilling your pledge to our ministry, I hope you will today!) You are making a difference in many lives for now and eternity!
For the sake of His cross,
Scott Nute
We just completed a fruitful ministry and fundraising trip to New Mexico! Thank you to all our friends who helped us organize and conduct these events! And, what a joy it was to have special time with my family!
The Lord blessed the “BENEFIT DINNERS” we hosted at Promise Community Church in Albuquerque, NM, and the Baptist Student Union in Las Cruces, NM, which is my hometown. Numerous people joined our growing team of monthly ministry partners, which will help us in our soon-to-come major projects in India and the Philippines. Next month, I will give you full details of our exciting upcoming project in Southeastern India, April 19-30.
Our ministry organization has been blessed by my home church, Houston’s First Baptist Church (HFBC). Recently, HFBC officially accepted our ministry as a “Partner Ministry,” meaning they will be supporting our work, and they are allowing us to conduct a “BENEFIT DINNER” in the church March 30! If you are in the Houston area, you are warmly invited to join us. Contact us for more information: 713-277-8638; info@scottnute.org.
The Bible says in Revelation 14:6 we are to take the Gospel to every “nation, tribe, language, and people.” On Feb 29-Mar 1, while working together with four local churches on the small Apache Indian Reservation in Mescalero, NM, our ministry conducted a reservation-wide evangelistic outreach called “ApacheFEST!!!” that was conducted in the Mescalero Community Center. This event was specially geared toward the unique culture of their Apache tribe, which included a program in the local schools where I spoke to 200 students on secular issues, and then invited the students and teachers to attend the event. Over 160 people attended “ApacheFEST!!!” with 16 people making public decisions for Christ! The local churches immediately began next steps for those who made decisions by setting up Bible studies, discipleship contacts, and additional spiritual growth opportunities.
It is with deep appreciation that I offer gratitude to you, our faithful and committed ministry partners! Your continual prayers, encouragement, and financial support are enabling our ministry to strive forward in not only seeing thousands of people surrendering their lives to Jesus Christ in our projects, but also in the vital equipping, training, and mentoring of church leaders and ministry-minded Christians scattered within the nations, tribes, languages, and peoples of the world. Thank you so much for all you do for God’s Kingdom and for our ministry!
For reaching and training all the tribes of the world,
Scott Nute
As reports continue to come in, we are learning more of what God did during our recent outreach and training project in the Philippines. How privileged our ministry is to have partners like you who believe in what we are doing, people who send us out to duplicate what Jesus and His disciples did…take the Gospel to the world!
A pastor (pictured to the left) who attended one of our Leadership Development Conferences in the Philippines heard me give tips on how to use simple illustrations when sharing the Gospel. Two weeks after the conference as this pastor was overseeing a funeral, he shared the Gospel using a pen illustration he learned…that a pen offered to us as a gift is no good to us unless we reach out and “receive” the pen into our hand, just as Jesus Christ is no good to us unless we “receive” Him into our hearts. At the funeral that day, the pastor led six people to Christ using a pen!
In the photo below from one of our training conferences, this older woman was so happy after she was given a Bible in her local Philippine language, Tagalog. Because of your support, we were able to distribute Bibles to many people who did not have one!
Both this month and next, some of our partners in New Mexico and Texas are hosting “BENEFIT DINNERS” for our ministry and you are welcome to join us in Albuquerque, NM (Feb 24), Las Cruces, NM (Feb 25), and Houston, TX (Mar 30)! Contact us for more information: 713-277-8638; info@scottnute.org. In addition, Feb 29-Mar 1 we are conducting an area-wide outreach event on the Mescalero Apache Indian Reservation in NM, including an assembly program in the local schools. Join us in praying for many to come to Christ!
Our website has FREE personal evangelism and discipleship materials that you can download. If you are looking for creative and effective ways to share your faith, and for Bible study materials for yourself or those you know, we are happy to make these available to you on our website.
People are taking advantage of online giving through our website and have become financial partners via automatic giving, whether it is monthly, quarterly, or one-time gifts. We praise the Lord for how He continues to provide through you, His people! Together, we are making a difference in lives around the world as we continue reaching and training people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
Please pray for our ministry, and for me, as we decide where the Lord is guiding us to conduct international projects this year! Thank you for your prayers, concern, and support
For the sake of the lost,
Scott Nute
