A New Year: Time To Go!

Welcome to 2018! Have you made any New Year’s resolutions yet? This year let our resolutions be oriented in faith, and  pictured on eternity, and initiated today! There are 2 resolutions I hope we will be challenged with for 2018: 1) to share our faith regularly and to personally lead people to Jesus Christ! And, 2) to go on a short-term mission trip! Question: is there any legitimate—and Biblical—reason that you cannot go on both a domestic mission trip and an international mission trip this year?

Our Video & Food teams are already going out this year with the Great News of Jesus Christ! In the last month our teams conducted 12 outreach events in villages, and in tribes, and in towns, and in cities, in countries such as Kenya, Pakistan, and India! In total, 355 people turned to Jesus Christ! Here are updates from India:

In the 2nd right photo one of our India E-Video Team leaders, “Paul,” is translating our outreach video. Paul is from Burma (also known as Myanmar), and he lives in India with his wife and their 1 year old daughter. Paul conducted our video events inside of village churches, reaching 2 villages with our video—The Cross! In the photo notice how primitive the church is, which is normal for many third-world churches. Paul was able to see 75 people publicly repent and trust in Jesus Christ! He also distributed Bibles and salvation tracts. Paul also gave rice to some of these poor villagers. In many parts of the world, such as India, a simple food staple like rice, given in the love of Jesus, makes an enormous impact! One man who gave his heart to Jesus at one of the village events had no food. So, the rice our team gave him was a timely gift. Here is what he said, “I had nothing to cook, but because of the rice I was given I give thanks to the heavenly Father!”

In another region of India our other team, led by “Ben,” conducted a special Christmas program for children! Some of the children had the red dots of Hinduism on their foreheads because their parents had taken them to a Hindu festival before attending our Christian program. Ben reported that after hearing about Jesus some of the children began saying, “Jesus is my God, my Savior!” The 3rd right photo shows some of the children presenting a skit during the program while holding up the gifts and prizes we provided to each child. The bottom photo is our team giving rice to the children. Because of your support, this children’s Christmas program  impacted the lives of both these children and their parents who brought them!

Our crusade team in the Philippines has been working for many months organizing over 300 churches for our 2018 crusade & school projects! The first of which is next month, February 5-10, in the capital city of the Philippines, Manila! Next month, I will share details of this great opportunity we have in Manila! Thank you for standing strong with us in another year of global ministry service!

Here’s to another year of winning souls!

In 2017—lives impacted in 8 countries!

pic01pic02pic03pic04pic05 Merry Christmas! I hope this year has been full of peace for you and your family! We are finishing another year of fruitful global ministry! Rejoice with us in the following 2017 ministry results from El Salvador, Peru, India, Pakistan, Kenya, Nepal, South Sudan, and the Philippines, and know that your support & prayers made it all possible!

  • 2,445 public decisions for Jesus Christ!
  • 4,100 church members trained in personal evangelism & follow-up ministry.
  • 8 International Video & Food Event Teams added to our ministry! To each team we provided ministry “kits” containing equipment such as video projectors and screens, Bibles, tracts, rice, and in some places a tricycle moto like the one in the top right photo that we purchased and gave to our team leader in Peru.
  • 6 home churches/disciple groups
  • 800 pounds of rice (and other foods) distributed to hungry people.
  • 260 Bibles in a variety of languages were given to church leaders and new Christians.
  • 50,000 salvation tracts were given to church leaders and all people who attended our events.

In the photos are people you helped us impact for Jesus this year! There is the blind new believer in Indiaeceiving rice, to the family of new Christians in Pakistan receiving their first Bibles, to us ministering to a tribe who lives on the Amazon river in Peru, to the 2 boys bowing their heads in prayer during one of our outreach school programs in El Salvador, to Hindu girls reading our salvation tracts, and so on! Each of these photos show people that you helped us express the love of Jesus to this year—Thank You! Below are a few of the testimonies we received this year because of your generous prayers and support:

Lisa,” a Burmese girl in India who received Jesus at a youth crusade, said, “I am a sinner, now I have Jesus Christ! Thank you for the Bible, I will read it regularly.”Barry,” a Hindu, said, “I believed in Jesus as a prophet only, but I learned that He is a great Son of God!” In Pakistan, “Mark” said, “I have not seen such a great love from God in other religions. I felt peace when I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior!” Then, “Larry” shared these words, “When I realized I was a sinner, I suddenly was shocked and I needed Jesus to be my Lord and Savior!” For next year, God willing, we have plans to conduct outreach & training & food events in at least as many countries as we did this year! Our ministry is more than 35% below meeting our 2017 budget, which greatly impacts what our ministry can do in 2018. If your heart is moved to help us meet our budget with a special Christmas year-end gift, that would be a wonderful Christmas present to our ministry! I still believe in miracles…especially Christmas miracles!

World Testimonies – “The Great Son of God!”

world-testimonies-01world-testimonies-02world-testimonies-03world-testimonies-04world-testimonies-05
It’s the time of year we celebrate Thanksgiving! Please join me in giving thanks to the Lord for the following people whose lives were recently changed by the Good News of Jesus Christ!

In India one of our E-Video Teams, led by an evangelist who we’ll call “Paul” (for safety reasons), was off and running to go out and reach people with the new equipment kit our ministry provided for him. Using the video projector, and the Bibles, and the rice, and the tracts we printed in their local language, Telugu, Paul showed our video in 4 events. He conducted these events in churches and schools (top 2 photos), where he played and interpreted our video—The Cross! Paul gave rice and salvation tracts to everyone in attendance. Through these events 134 people made public decisions of repentance and faith in Jesus Christ! After turning his life over to Christ, one man said, “I spent my life without Christ. I am addicted to drugs, spending life in agony, but now I repent from my sins and accept Jesus as my personal Savior. I have peace now!” Paul went on to tell us that many youth came forward with tears and surrendered their lives to Christ! Paul summed up his recent video report saying, “God is using the simple video to impact believers and unbelievers!”

Our Pakistan teams are seeing so many lives changed by Jesus that I can only share 2 testimonies in this letter due to space. One man, we will call him “Bill,” said after hearing our video message of Jesus Christ (3rd photo), “I came to learn new things about Jesus Christ. I believed in Jesus as a prophet only, but I learned that He is the great Son of God!” And a woman, “Mary”, said this after accepting Christ, “I used to worship hindu gods but I had no happiness, but when I accepted Jesus I am feeling such a joy I never experienced it before.” Along with these 2 testimonies, 20 other Pakistani people came to Christ last month! Our Pakistan teams also did follow-up for those who decided to follow Jesus, teaching the new Christians how to pray and read the Bible. (“Mike” in 4th photo conducting new believers’ Bible study in secret.) These teams also gave out 36 Urdu Bibles to new Christians (bottom photo), as well as rice to all the people who attended the video events!

Word is spreading in the Philippines of the well-organized evangelistic crusades that our ministry conducts. The church leaders like our focus of mobilizing and training the local churches to do both the pre-crusade personal evangelism and the post-crusade follow-up of each person who makes a decision for Jesus Christ! Next year, we have scheduled 2 major Crusade & School Program projects in different cities in the Philippines! These projects have the potential to not only reach and win thousands of people to Jesus Christ, but also to provide ministry training, and strengthening, for the thousands of Christians involved in the hundreds of churches we are partnering with for these events. Our Asian crusade team, and our various E-Video Teams, thank you for your support and request your continued prayers!

Happy Thanksgiving,

The Most Important Purpose in World History

e-team01When God opens a door, it is open and it cannot be closed! I am happy to share with you that the “door” for our E-Video Team ministry has opened even wider, and our 6th team was added to our growing international video outreach & training ministry! “The gate to the nations is broken, and its doors have swung open to me,” Ezekiel 26:2. God gave me this verse as final confirmation to restart my ministry in May 2011, and this verse is happening in ways I never, ever, imagined!

e-team02Our Pakistan E-Video Team leader, “Mike,” who came to know Jesus a few years ago through our website, was visiting a bookshop months ago to purchase Bibles. While there, he met a Pakistani evangelist we will call “Norman.” As they got to know each other and felt it was “safe” to discuss Christian ministry, Mike told Norman about our video ministry, and how God is using it to both win and train Pakistani people with the Gospel. The result: we added our 2nd E-Video Team in Pakistan led by Norman! Because of the generous support you give to our ministry, we were able to provide Norman with resources to show our video, such as a TV, and salvation tracts, and Bibles, and rice (top photo, people eatine-team03g the Indian rice we gave to them called “Biryani”)! Here is what Norman (in 2nd photo with wife and kids) said after his first video event as a partner in our ministry, “I am amazed to see that 14 people came to accept Jesus, and I never saw this in my previous work that large number of people came to Jesus.” Two weeks later, Norman met with 11 of these new Christians (3rd photo) to assist in their discipleship, and he said about these new believers, “It is their first experience they found happiness inside!”

e-team04Our E-Video Team in India conducted video & food events in 4 villages the past month. The gratitude they express for the equipment and resources our ministry provides to them is real! In the 4th photo notice the joy in their faces as they are in their van on their way to another village to share the Gospel (a box of our salvation tracts are on top of the van). They saw 40 people accept Jesus Christ this month, fed dozens of people with rice, and distributed Bibles to new believers (bottom photo shows women who recently turned to Christ receiving their new Bibles).

Our Event Director in the Philippines, Pastor Lourdman Cabuenos, began 2 months ago mobilizing & training close to 200 churches for our February 2018 Crusade in the capital city of the Philippines—Manila! e-team05This looks to be the largest and most extensive evangelistic & training event we have ever done! By the time the crusade happens, over 8,000 local church members will be trained in personal evangelism and follow-up ministry! And, up to 500 Christians will be trained to be Counselors at the crusade and in the follow-up efforts.

You & I are involved in THE MOST IMPORTANT PURPOSE to ever exist in world history…evangelizing and winning people to Jesus Christ! Nothing you and I do in our lives will EVER come close to having more eternal significance than leading people to Jesus Christ! Thank you for teaming with, and for believing in, this ministry! Together, we are getting it done!

Till He comes…we go,

Houston’s First Baptist Challenge Gift

september-01Exciting reports from across the globe! Let me start with our recent Peru project: August 7th-13th we were in Iquitos, Peru, where we preached the Gospel at 5 Community Crusades, and in 2 private school outreach programs on Drug Awareness (public schools closed due to a spontaneous teachers strike). At our Pastors’ Conference there were 22 church leaders and we shared messages on systematic theology and personal evangelism, and we provided ministry resources to these leaders. In addition, we took the Gospel to tribes who live on the Amazon River (top photo). God moved everywhere we went, and 195 Peruvians turned to Jesus Christ!

september-02God has blessed our new E-Video Team ministry! So far this year, our teams have seen 1,133 people make decisions to follow Jesus Christ! Our E-Teams work with local churches (if any are present) to reach the lost, the hungry, and the poor in slums and villages throughout third-world countries! Along with sharing the love of Jesus Christ, our teams also share basic food like rice (photo right, 200 lb of rice that our India Team distributed to villages of Indian people) to those who attend the events; plus, we also share salvation tracts and, as we are able, Bibles. Here are reports from some recent E-Team Video Events:

INDIA: Our India leader, “Bob,” conducted E-Video Events in numerous Indian villages. Our team gave rice portions and tracts to everyone who came to listen to our video message—september-04The Cross! So far this year, 122 people have received Jesus Christ in these villages! One testimony is from the woman in the third photo, who is blind, holding the bag of rice we gave to her. Bob said, “she is a blind lady…she heard with her ears and accepted Jesus as her personal Savior!” Bob is busy now with the follow-up and giving Bibles to new Christians, and he is preparing future E-Events in more Indian villages!

NEPAL: Our Nepal leader, “Rusty,” conducted our E-Video Events in local Nepalese churches (there are 83 churches in Rusty’s region alone where we plan to conduct video events). Our team gave salvation tracts and snacks to everyone who came to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ! september-03In the 4th photo below, Rusty and his wife pray over 2 ladies they led to Christ during the video event follow-up!

PAKISTAN: Our Pakistan leader, “Mike,” provided snacks and juice to those who attended our E-Events, which are conducted in secret due to the radical Islam in Pakistan. Mike has seen 62 people commit to Christ this year! He regularly meets with the new Christians to teach them the Bible and provide study resources (bottom photo). So far, we have given 50 Bibles to new Pakistani Christians in their language, Urdu, and we plan to purchase and give more!september-05

My home church, Houston’s First Baptist Church, has donated an $11,250 Challenge Gift to our ministry with this challenge to our donors and friends…to not just meet, but to double, their gift! Meeting this challenge will provide $33,750 to our ministry, and will greatly help us develop our E-Event Video Teams ministry…enabling them to continue sharing the Gospel, and giving food, Bibles, and resources, to people living in the most desperate conditions in the world! Meeting this challenge will also help us continue our evangelistic crusade events, church ministry training, drug awareness school programs, Bible & tract distribution, and free transportation to people who attend our crusades. Will you please help us meet this challenge gift? Your special donation can be designated to “Houston’s First Baptist Challenge Gift.” Thank you for your help!

Sincerely,
